With the current state of the economy, everyone is trying to find a way to save money. Whether it is finding the gas station with the lowest price, the grocery store with the best sales or the airline that offers you the most competitive rates that allows you to fly cheapest on your next trip, money has quickly become one of the most prized commodities on the market. No one wants to part with it before they are 100 percent sure that they have gotten the best rate possible. Here are three of the best tips that can help you get the best rates on your ticket, allowing you to fly for the cheapest rates available.
First, do your research. When it comes to saving money, the savviest of shoppers knows to not go with the first deal they find. Although there may be times that the first quote you receive may just be one of the cheapest on the market, make sure you take the time to shop around so you are sure that you have found the rate that allows you to fly for the cheapest rate possible. With the power of the internet at your fingertips, use it to your advantage to find the best rates possible.
Second, learn the tricks of the trade. It is no secret that airlines want you to book early so you can pay the highest rate possible. While this is a great way to guarantee your place, many of your fellow passengers may have saved hundreds of dollars by waiting till the last minute to book their flight. Airlines are known for cutting their rates the closer you get to your flight date, so if you can afford to be a little spontaneous, waiting till the end to purchase your tickets may just allow you the ability to fly cheapest at a much lower rate. The downside of this is that if you wait too long, you run the risk of having the flight fill up, causing you to have to find an alternate flight.
Lastly, look for airlines tickets discount. It is no secret that everyone loves to save money. If you have your heart set on flying with one specific airline, see if there are any discounts for early or late bookings, flight time, or even the cheapest day to fly. Airlines are in this business to make a profit, and they are not going to be forthcoming with programs that can save you money. It is in your best interest to ask the right questions so you can fly cheapest for the best rate possible.
That is all there is to finding the best rate possible on your airfare. While this may seem like common sense, taking the time to do the proper research will allow you to fly at the lowest fare possible for many years and trips to come.

Just to add to these tips...based on my own experience, it's almost always cheaper to purchase tickets online than it is to get them through a travel agent. And they're even cheaper if you get them from the website of the airline itself than from a third party. Having said that, it's still best to check out all possible sources for your tickets before buying them. After all, getting the best air fare leads you one step closer to achieving your dream of traveling on a shoestring budget!
